UNIBRIDGE steel bridge applications
UNIBRIDGE® has been designed and built to meet the stringent specifications of the Eurocode N° 3 for permanent bridges. Therefore, it can be used for permanent and also for short term applications. It can be moved later to another location, which can be for another short term usage or on a permanent basis. This makes the applications for UNIBRIDGE® almost infinite.
Some examples of application for UNIBRIDGE®;- Single lane road bridges
- Single lane road bridges with one or two pedestrian sidewalks
- Double, triple or multi lane road bridges
- Multi lane road bridges with one or two pedestrian sidewalks
- Pedestrian and bicycle crossings*
- Railway bridge with one or two pedestrian sidewalks**
- Mining applications
- Military applications
- Marine applications
* Pedestrian and Bicycle Crossings – built from one standard UNIBRIDGE® beam with one standard pedestrian sidewalk on each side.
** Railway Bridges – special 1.25m high UNIBRIDGE® beams are used for this application, they may be used as well for mining applications for very heavy loads.
Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge
One single box girder 1.0m high with two lateral sidewalks, up to 44.8m span.
Single Lane Road Bridge
Up to 33.4m clear span using two box girders 1.0m high. Load capacity to meet most civil requirements. Option for lateral side walk(s)
Double Lane Road Bridge
Up to 33.4m clear span using three box girders 1.0m high. Load capacity to meet most civil requirements. Option for lateral side walk(s)
Mining Applications
Up to 200 tons capacity, requires a special study for each application
Military Applications
Military load type MC80 up to 72 metric tons (eg Abrams tanks)
Railway Bridge Applications
Up to 22m spans, one single track only with one or two pedestrian side walks. Special oversized girders 1.25m high, meet most railway traffic load requirements in Australia and New Zealand.
UNIBRIDGE Marine Applications
Unibridge® modules are the key components of the access pier connecting the lifting bridge/ramp to the terminal building of a modular RO-RO (Roll-On, Roll-Off) maritime port.
